Where is the loathe?

I feel like I wanna smack somebody
Turn around and bitch slap somebody
But I ain't goin' out bro (no, no, no)
I ain't givin' into it (no, no, no)
Anxieties bash my mind in
Terrorizing my soul like Bin Laden
But I ain't fallin' down bro (no, no, no)
I won't lose control bro (no, no, no)
Shackle and chained
My soul feels stained
I can't explain got an ich on my brain
Lately my whole aim is to maintain
And regain control of my mainframe
My bloods boiling its beatin' out propaine
My train of thoughts more like a runaway train
I'm in a fast car drivin' in a fast lane
In the rain and I'm might just hydroplaine

I don't fear none of my enemies
And I don't fear bullets from oozies
I've been dealing with something thats worse than these
That'll make you fall to your knees and thats the
The anxiety the sane and the insane rivalry
Paranoias brought me to my knees
Lord please please please
Take away my anxiety
The sane and the insane rivalry
Paranoias brought me to my knees
Lord please please please
Take away my anxiety

My head keeps running away my brother
The only thing making me stay my brother
But I won't give into it bro (no, no, no)
Gotta get myself back now
God, I can't let my mind be
Tell my enemy is my own
Gots to find my inner wealth
Gots to hold up my thoughts
I can't get caught (no, no, no)
I can't give into it now (no, no, no)
Emotions are trapped set on lock
Got my brain stuck goin through the motions
Only I know what's up
I'm filled up with pain
Tryin' to gain my sanity
Everywhere I turn its a dead end infront of me
With nowhere to go gotta shake this anxiety
Got me feelin' strange paranoia took over me
And its weighin' me down
And I can't run any longer, yo
Knees to the ground

I don't fear none of my enemies
And I don't fear bullets from oozies
I've been dealing with something thats worse than these
That'll make you fall to your knees and thats the
The anxiety the sane and the insane rivalry
Paranoias brought me to my knees
Lord please please please
Take away my anxiety
The sane and the insane rivalry
Paranoias brought me to my knees
Lord please please please
Take away my anxiety

Respect the cocaine.

Et si je mourrais, là maintenant ?

Bust, Outkast feat. Killer Mike

feat. Killer Mike)

[Intro:] Ghosts and goblins run amock
In the caverns of rhine
Slinging petty corruption
The seventh sign!

[Hook:] Yeah!!!!
Give to you and I do what it takes!
To give it to you!
Bust, Bust!

[Big Boi:] Step into the realms os space where nobody goes
Only the baddest motherfuckas are the ones that are chose!
Some of the coolest individuals on the planet we said
Best believe that we can buck or give a damn if we cared!
No collision supervision but my family is here
Now my mama taught my niggaz that was under the stairs
One of those who chauffeured life and then was unprepared
But my hunger is the thought that no wonder it can't be smothered
Or buttered up, buttercup, melt your sauce
You a Chucky Cheese bouncer chumpin' off the boss
What I'm trying to tell you now is that you're softer that soft
And I'm sick as a cough, did I mention it's raw?
Your predicaments flaw
Flaw means fucked up and serving out the oven not fried, slow roast
No coast, tuck your tail and hide!
You scared?

[Hook]

[Killer Mike:] I officially do it with duns on tour
We lock down traps, push caps galore
My wiz cook work `til it scale like fish
My old earth even known to handle biz
I serve whipped, out of whips, whip out cash
Usually keep a G packed under the dash
Try to test my gangsta, I bring harm
I'm as slick as Freeway Rick and Nicholas Barnes
My uptown Nikes hold caps and cheddar
My waistline hold a 4-pound Baretta
I'll shoe lace your face just to learn you better
My ox so sharp it cut through leather
My rap name Killer, my street name Skunk
I mastered the music that was born in the BRonx!
I switch my slang spit from my mouth
I'm still all coast, my coust the South!!!

[Hook]

Tristan Wyatt
AGE 21; FRANKTOWN, COLORADO
Machine gunner in the Army's 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment. Lost his leg on August 25, 2003, during a firefight near Fallujah.

I was in the back of an armored personnel carrier. We got hit by a rocket-propelled grenade. It was a shitty day, to say the least. I just kept shooting. I thought I was dead anyway.

I've had to relearn everything from standing up to walking. I'd been snowboarding for close to eight years before I got hit, and I'm just hoping to be able to do it again.

I want to go back to the military. I want my old job back. I was infantry. We blew things up. I felt like my heart was in the right place over there.

The damage done

Stay in bed

A travers l’expression artistique.

Why must we stay where we don't belong?
because we never belong

We need to talk

J'attaque direct:

Argument imparable, donc resservi à chaque fois.

beep beep beep beep beep...

I slam my hand down on my alarm clock. Hard. It falls to the floor and I hear the distinctive sound of plastic being shattered on cold tiles, and my battery rolling on the floor. There goes my snoozing. Half an hour later, I'm grabbing the necessary gear... my luggage, my personal cellphone, another cellphone, an old pocket PC, my train tickets and a good book, and head for the station. Its fucking freezing outside, and I hate being cold. Hooray for global warming.

Paranoia rises as I enter the station, even though no one knows I exist, I'm just a statistic. No reason for me to be under investigation, I never did anything illegal. Ok so yeah, i smoke pot. Sue me.
Train to Amsterdam CS, 09.40. Check my watch, its 08.59. Why am I always so early...

Relaxing in the freezing hall of Paris Nord Station, while you're sitting on metallic mirror covered chairs is not easy. I watch the crowds around me. Business men, beggars sleeping on the floor, military guys with their huge backpacks, families with children crying cause its early, its freezing... I'd be crying also.
All of these people... I no longer consider them as ants, or robots. I know I'm one of them. We all are. Its all about perspective.

...

My coat is neatly folded next to me, its nice and warm, and im speeding at above 300km/hours. I grab my cellphone callingcard, with a single unit left, cash paid, and stick the chip in my nokia. A few days back I dialed the green number, clickety click heard the electronic answering machine answer. The voice mail server was online. "Welcome to Axa Insurrance's free customer service. For english, press 1, for french press..."

This makes me wonder if there's any way to install a wardialer in my cell's firmware... but i digress.

Back to my high speed train. Take out the PocketPC from my pocket and lay it neatly on the table infront of me. Set up my cellphone parallell to it. Boot up my lame WinCE and start the IR connection manager. Hello phone.

I hypercomm back to the voicemail machine and wait for the pong. Pong. Ah sweet user interface. Enter the model's default password, everything going smooth.

"Would you like something to eat sir?"

I'm startled and immediatly turn to see what gun the Corporate Emergency Response Team dude is holding to my head...
Ah no, its a Thalys chick.
"Fuck your hot..."
Did I just say that? According to her facial expression, I guess not...

"Sir?"
"Ah yes please..."

Thats the cool part of travelling first class. A gouda snack.

Back to my blinking cursor. Select PPP session. And here it is, I'm connected to the World Wide Web. Munching on my holland cheese sandwich I launch good old fashionned telnet to a shell I set up a few months back on a corporate MacOSX I "innadvertently" had access to. Ownage. From there I download my sweet TARs to my shell, compile my code and get ready for action...

Here comes the truly dangerous part.

I've been roaming the underground and patiently waiting for months now, in search of the newest webserver exploit that'll give me access. Yesterday one sploit caught my attention. The PWebServer version 0.3.3 suffers from a directory traversal attack that allows a remote attacker to access any file outside of the webroot. Thats when I decided to buy my train ticket.

PWebServer.
Yes. Thats exactly what I needed. Your archives are mine.

Script kiddying time: tars have been downloaded, and compiled. Launch it. My target is a major paper and online newspaper read worldwide.

etc etc...

And hear I am. Im in. No need to be stealthy now, speed is of the essence. I transfer my other proggies, including a Remote Administration Tool and a MetaFileBrowser.

Of course the temptation of scribbling some ereet socio-politico-phylosophical message on the web server index is gnawing at the back of my brain, but I resist. That, and I dont have access. Im on a mission. I'm gonna change history. Before I do that I need Admin. Easy enough... I locate the fake "Administrator" account. I smell honey. Better not touch that. Ah.. John Krykowski. Its him. I already visualize him, an eastern european immigrant fascinated with puters and the american dream. Now sys op for this newspaper, addicted to caffeine, divorced and 4inch thick glasses. Its you. But what are you running?
Back to my mac. Switch console, launch the scans. System profiling started. I'll give it 3 minutes max.

I sit back and relax, and stare out the window. The country side is speeding by, and I'm suddenly very tired. The stress gets to me pretty bad. Take a look around me. 3 rows down a young couple, in their 30ish, are talking softly. I dont even lend an ear, they're probably discussing their future house mortgage, or tonight's cocktail party or kids or what the fuck do i care...
Turn my head 170 degrees, ouch... A young chick is 4 rows down, very cute. Very hype though, reading Cosmopolitan. 2 rows down is an old and tired business man, wrinkles carved in deep, and a cheap suit.
Do I belong here? Yes. More than they do. I've just started my life run. Lets just hope I dont end up like that old man. Got to be smart. Dont be stupid. Dont try stupid hacks like I'm doing right now.

Windows NT 4.0. SP6.
You got to be fucking kidding me. Need an http connection, fire up linx, straight to a random exploit archive, search for B. Found it. NT 4.0 VLogin Admin Remote Buffer Overflow Attack.
My fingers are trembling, need to focus. Stay cool. Dont look around you. Downloaded. Compiling...

Executing.
Password prompt just crashed. I'm in. Admin rights. I look up to the roof, and say "Halleluia".

What the fuck is the Thalys chick doing here? It's like she appears out of thin air...
"Is everything to your liking sir?"

"Blow me..." Ah no, as usual: "Yes everything is fine thank you."

Here I am. No time to think. Need to act. I launch the metabrowser. Simple enough program. It's going to switch 2 words in each article it finds, containing words such as "USA, 2000 election, Bush, Gore, Survey, winner, lead, votes, looses..."
In all the articles that correspond to the complex criterias I set up after viewing hundreds and hundreds of archive pages on all major Inet DBs, my proggy code named "Revisionism" is gonna switch "Bush" with "Gore".
And here it goes...

I stick around another 60seconds to see if all is in order. Hell, I'll stick around another 5min.
Longest 5 minutes in my life, but everything is working fine. Check my watch, its 10.23, wich means its 04.23 at my target's location. M. Krykowski is probably still in bed, dreaming of I dont know what. What do guys like him dream of anyway? His home country? Patatoes? Vodka?

I've estimated the modification of archives to take 4 hours max. He wont be in his office until 9ish. Yes I'm sure, I've called many times in the past. Thank you redbox. Everything is on schedule. Still have a hard time believing it.

I shut down the connection to my shell, and hangup hypercomm. Flash. It's like my soul's suddenly sucked back into my body. Look around, I'm in the train. Look forward, and I see the yuppie couple, look back see the tired old corporate man and the cute chick. Look down the hall and enjoy a wonderful view of Thalys Girl's behind.

I'm sweating. I need to chill. I still have a few hours ahead of me before I reach 'Dam, but I'm too hyper to sleep, or read or do anything that demands an attention spane of more than 5 seconds.

Bah, this is going to be expensive but what the fuck. I get up, walk down the aisle, hello Thalys Girl, and head to the bar, by some liquor. Quite a bit of it. Dont really remember.

Grab my personal cellphone, hook it up to my PocketPC, connect. Schling Schling I can feel the cash being sucked off my bank account, not that I care. Im online, legally, and connect to my desktop. Launch IRC. Usual server. /j #Usualchan.
#eSM has joined #Usualchan
oi oi
arriving in a few hours, get ready to partyyyy

This is my second home.

High-Tech Heroin

Dostoevsky once wrote that "in the end they will lay their freedom at our feet and say to us, 'Make us your slaves, but feed us.'" His prophecy is relevant when examining the modern Information Age -- a dark, corporate-controlled society predicted by such artistic legends as Bruce Sterling, George Lucas, Ridley Scott, and William Gibson – and is the focus of this article.

We want to be part of this information environment and feel more empowered with each new gadget, service, or digital connection in our lives. The concept of "information everywhere" provides instant gratification to satisfy our needs for books, music, porn, and digital interaction with others through web searches, e-commerce, wireless, instant messaging, e-mail, and streaming content over broadband. High-speed links enable organizations to operate around the world at light speed and conduct business on a twenty-four hour clock. The sun never sets in the Information Age; we are always plugged into the global matrix of the information domain. We're addicted to it and constantly awash in a sea of electronic stimuli.

Yet as we rush to embrace the latest and greatest gadgetry or high-tech service and satisfy our techno-craving, we become further dependent on these products and their manufacturers – so dependent that when something breaks, crashes, or is attacked, our ability to function is reduced or eliminated. Given the frequent problems associated with the Information Age - losing internet connections, breaking personal digital assistants, malicious software incidents, or suffering any number of recurring problems with software or hardware products, we should take a minute to consider whether we're really more or less independent - or empowered - today than we think, knowing that how we act during such stressful periods is similar to a heroin junkie's actions during withdrawal.

Technology, like gambling and heroin, is addictive. We're driven or forced into buying new gadgets and constantly upgrading our technology for any number of reasons, both real and perceived, and feel uncomfortable without our latest "fix." Corporations love this because once we accept and begin using their products or services, the dependency is formed and they essentially own our information – and subsequently, society and us. Their proprietary lock on our collective information means they can force us to spend money and upgrade on their schedule and not when we truly need - or can afford - to do so, regardless of whether or not we need the latest features, and regardless of the consequences that may haunt us down the road.

But unlike many other industries from the Industrial Age and the heroin dealers, high-tech corporations are in a unique position to determine - and force - us addicts to spend money while relinquishing our rights to seek recourse for damages arising from their faulty products no matter what pain we must endure during our period of indentured servitude and addiction to their problematic technologies. In some cases, particularly in mainstream operating systems, software, and internet-based services, it's one step short of blackmail. We all certainly can't go cold turkey very easily, although some may try and succeed.

To make things worse, government practically has outsourced the oversight and definition of technology-based expression and community interaction to for-profit corporations and secretive industry-specific cartels (e.g., the MPAA, RIAA, SIA, BSA, ICANN) who have wasted no time in rewriting the rules for how they want our information-based society to operate according to their interests, not ours. At times, you might even say we've voluntarily imprisoned ourselves under the control of profit-seeking wardens who have little if any real oversight or accountability for their actions. Our high-tech heroin dealers are not only promoting and profiting from their product but developing the laws and methods to govern and regulate its use while protecting themselves from any negative side-effects and ensuring their revenue stream.

Whether it is our ability to share available creative products according to existing laws, bring to market new creative works, establish an identity in cyberspace, or otherwise exchange digital information, these groups - with well-funded (read: purchased) government approval - have declared themselves the overlords of their industry-specific fiefdoms that comprise the Information Age. Each industry and vendor wants to assert their proprietary technical and legal authority over who does what, when, how, and under what conditions with their products and services, even if their profiteering desires are incompatible with our law-abiding ones. And if their efforts to maintain law and order according to their proprietary technical standards or legal trickery fail, they can always turn things over to the federal government for action as a backup plan.

Combining these perverts of profit with the fickle, often-ignorant nature of our elected lawmakers has produced an Information Age where the rights and abilities of the individual don't matter. Neither does facilitating society's evolution by allowing it to take maximum advantage of technology's capabilities for its collective benefit. Or reality. Today, what matters is only how much money and freedom people are willing (or forced) to pay (or sacrifice) to their corporate masters for the privilege of living within the various information-based fiefdoms provided for them to generate revenue.

The Information Age will not be remembered by the fun, high-flying and overwhelmingly feel-good Dot Com days despite the ongoing presence of Dot Com-developed technologies. Rather, the Information Age will be remembered as a period when 12-year old girls from New York slums, senior citizens, and innovative college students are harrassed by greedy cartels seeking to scare their future customers into submission; when the profit goals of high-tech vendors determine how client businesses and people are organized and interact; when everyone is presumed a potential criminal until proven otherwise according to oppressive industry-defined criteria; when a once-awesome revolution in global communications became converted into a cesspool of unsolicited and offensive marketing messages; when knowing how to do something that's illegal is just as illegal as actually doing something that's illegal; when the legal protections over freedom of speech are trumped to preserve corporate secrets or marketshare while hiding vulnerabilities that endanger the public; when our lives are monitored and dissected by marketing firms looking for the best way to sell us things we don't need or want; and when technology's promise and alluring capabilities are used to surreptitiously entrap and willingly imprison members of the information-age society instead of truly empowering them.

Dostoevsky was way ahead of his time.
