I do not care about your suffering.
Only one in twenty thousand of your prayers do I hear
Because the dirty rest of them are but self-serving pleas.
So rare is the prayer of purity.
But purity does not always imply there is goodness.
I have answered many prayers of sterling purity
That were mined from rich veins of what you would call "evil."
With all of your "extremes" contained within me,
Black can go white and white can go black
In a moment that's passed in a lightning zap.
And goodness borne of fear of me is lying belief,
A thing that's more despicable than murder to me.
Ignominy, you see, is not the only thing
That can drive my lightning to skewer your wings,
But I will arm you with immunity and hatred that's holy
To destroy those who hate love, or turn beauty ugly,
For purity is certainly one promised path to me;
And death is so small compared to all I've seen.
A million of you dying does not earn from me a blink.
I am the father of infinity. It's hard to bother me.
So when your loved one dies, I will ignore your selfish cries,
And I will not give an answer to your whining Why's?
Because the answer to why is that there is no why.
It just is.
And that is why.
